Weeks 47 & 48 - Round 5
Hey there everyone!
Sorry for the no-show last week; my pdays have now switched over to Saturdays! Why? Well, because Sister Kropf and I are in the office, all of the senior missionaries that we serve with there take Saturdays off but work the full day on Mondays, so it only makes sense that we'd do the same. Plus, since 99% of the world has no idea that missionaries take most of Monday off every week, we get calls and have work to do on Monday more often than Saturday. It feels really weird... for 11 months I've been getting used to looking forward to Mondays and having the weekends be my busiest time, but now I'm back to looking forward to the weekends. It feels SO much more strange than you could know unless you've been on a mission.
Anywho, let's get into the meat of what happened during my two week MIA period! This whole last week we had a mission conference with Elder and Sister Jaggi! They met with us every morning over zoom for 2 hours every day this week. Wow, what a spiritual high! They are incredible. They also did a meeting with all of the technology specialists in the mission, which includes me! (I still don't know how I got here tbh). This means that I got to present a slideshow to a general authority!!!! It was insane!!! He said repeatedly that the members of our technology team are the mission tech leaders of the world. I don't know how, but apparently our mission is doing more with technology and online proselyting than any other mission, and I'm one of the 10 missionaries who gets to help lead that. Isn't that mind-boggling?!?
However, I was sent here to do much more than spreadsheets! (Btw, my master spreadsheet now has 145 sheets. Send help.) Lexi is still doing great! She is slowly but surely understanding and piecing together everything we're teaching her, but she's not ready to join Christ's church quite yet. All in good time though! We also had an awesome Bible study with this woman named Tiffany. It's HARD trying to find and teach when you only get 2-3 hours a day to do it because you have to do office work the rest of the time, but we're doing our very best! Prayers that we'll be able to run into the people who need us and are ready to receive us would be great.
Now, what is that title "Round 5" all about? That, my friends would be because I am in my fifth round of quarantine. That's right, folks! Fifth! I'm pretty sure I actually hold the record in our mission right now for most quarantined. Three of the sisters in Bismarck got the 'Rona. RIP. I'm immune, because well, been there done that, but Sister Kropf could potentially be infected. Yippee! We're praying not. I hope all y'all are doing your best to keep yourselves and others safe and healthy. We should be outta here in 4 days though if Sister Kropf doesn't start feeling sick at any point between now and then! That will be a glorious day.
I love you all! Have a great week.
