Week 18 - A New Companion
Hello Everyone!
Another week has come and gone in what feels like a lifetime and a blink all at once somehow. This week was pretty great because we got to talk with some awesome people! One was Sister Davenport. She is just so sweet and lonely, and now she texts us pretty frequently with updates on her garden. Awesome person number 2 is Carl. He was recently baptized and is wanting to go to the temple, so we've been calling him pretty frequently. He's basically adopted us as his granddaughters. We told him about being able to be baptized for his ancestors, and he got all choked up and asked if he could be baptized for his grandkids who are being raised to not believe in God, and it just about broke my heart to hear him talk about how much he loves and worries about them.
Awesome person number 3 was a new person! We called him at the beginning of this week and he has some pretty interesting ideas of how the universe works, but he's willing to meet with us, so that's pretty cool! Should be interesting. Awesome person 4 is Dante, who is now praying about a date to be baptized! Then there are about 83 other awesome international missionaries who will be coming. The best one of all so far is.......
SISTER SCHMEICHEL! She's been companions with Sister Taylor and I since Wednesday, but unfortunately she's leaving to head down to Rapid City tomorrow. She's been SO fun to have around though. She was previously serving in the Brazl Belam mission, and she's from Florida, so even though it's been in the 40°s to 60°s, she's been pretty cold. The very best part of this has been when she was in our back seat and lifted up our car's snow scraper and asked, "what's this?" Sister Taylor and I just cracked up! She's so fun. I'm sad to see her go.
Not going to lie, this past week has been pretty difficult despite all the good things that have happened, but there are a couple of verses that have helped me quite a bit to try and remember. Alma 26:27, Mosiah 24:14-16, and Judges 6:23. Thank goodness Christ is always there to help us! I love you all so much. Have a great week!
