Week 41 - COVID Saga Continues and Transfers
Hello everyone!
I hope you're all doing wonderfully. Another week has come and gone, with yet more COVID news. I apologize for how boring these emails have been, but when you literally never leave your apartment for weeks on end, corona updates are kinda the biggest highlights of our weeks. Man, I can't believe this is what my mission looks like. So, as I told all of you last Monday, my test results had come back negative which doomed us to a quarantine until the 28th of October. Well, on the 20th, the day after I wrote that email, about midday I got an extremely sore throat out of nowhere followed by a persistent dry cough. This was seven days after we had last seen someone covid positive. Two days later we got tested yet again, and on Saturday the results came back that Rona got me. Not gonna lie, it doesn't feel great. It felt like I was hit by a truck there for a while! I feel so much better now, but yesterday I completely lost my sense of smell. It's just gone. Hopefully that comes back....
Anyway, I'll be in quarantine until the 30th and Sister Astle's results came back negative, so she'll be quarantined until the 13th of November. Pray for her, please. Another complication that comes with this corona mess is that I'm supposed to be in Bismarck right now, because technically I've been transferred! Yep, I'm heading on back to my first area, but I'll be in 3rd ward instead of 1st. Most of my time is going to be spent in the mission office though! That's right, I'm now an office missionary. Apparently President Howell has a whole slew of projects to keep me busy involving lots of data, math, and spreadsheets. I'm in HEAVEN. As an office missionary, you're in the office from 9 to 5 every day but Sunday and Monday, so office missionaries are almost always in trios so the other two can still work the area while you're at a desk, so I'm going to have two new comps. Get this, one of them is SISTER BAIRD!!!!!!! I get to be companions with my MTC comp! The other one is Sister Cutler, and she seems super sweet, so I'm not worried. I'm super sad to be leaving Dickinson and Sister Astle, but if I had to be transferred, this is probably the best possible transfer out there. I'm really excited to see how it goes. When I'll leave, however, is a whole different deal. It'll either be the 30 or the 13, and we have no idea which yet. Updates to come!
Love you all lots and lots,
Sister Balls
